martial arts strength training

So… Which Martial Arts?
Well, I wanna get into learning a Martial Art and wanted it for strength training, self-defense etc. So far I wanted to go with Mix Martial Arts but found there was none in my area…. Just wanna know what’s next ‘best’ or best for my needs… I’m looking for something effective in a fight and wanted to go with Karate then maybe move to Wing Chun….
Preferably want help from people with experience, thanks!
Right now, I’m really liking Muay Thai, but not sure if they do ground work. What’s a good follow up to Muay Thai after I learn a bit of Muay Thai? BJJ sounds good.
PS: Anyone know of a good Muay Thai place to train at in Eastern Melbourne?
pretty much anything you want there all pretty good, but pick a more rounded martial art that focuses on ground and stand up, you dont want just bjj or just boxing, cuz if the fight doestnt go to the ground your screwed if your a bjj guy, and if the fight goes to the ground and all you no is boxing well then your screwed again…
