What are the benefits of using a steam room?
I work at a very nice resort and spa that lets me use the fitness center after I get off work (11pm). The locker rooms have a sauna that is on a timer so I can’t use that and a stream room that just takes a flip of a switch. I’ve been using it after I work out, staying in about 10-15 min. Just wondering what exactly it does for me?
It depends on how your body reacts. I use both, first sauna and then steam but my body prefers steam! The idea is to clean the skin, pores, you need to open them and while some fin they sit in a sauna and perspire, I am not one. However once in the steam room the perspiration starts running. So if you perspire in the steam room, well you will have clean out all the impurities in the skin, like blackheads for example and grease, dirt. As you are perspiring well your circulation is boosted, so oxygen is getting to all the cells of your body. Moreover if you inhale through your nose and slowly breath out through your mouth, you will dislodge and mucus build up in the nose, throat and chest.
I love my steams.
