When is the best time to do Yoga and Strength training? Is it better during the morning or at night?


These are all a lot of stretching and balancing excercises—not cardio—so is it better to do them at night to help you relax before bed, or better in the morning, before you start your work day?

The ideal to do yoga is between 4am to 7am and 4pm to 7pm. But doing yoga anytime is good.

Between 4am to 7am is called the ambrosial hours and the sun is hitting the earth in an angle that is making meditation more effective. It’s also the time when nature wakes up and there is not so much noise. It’s also believed to be much prana(life force) in these hours.

You will get ready for the day better and most problems will solve themselves..

In the 108 Kundalini yoga scriptures called the Upanishads this time is referred as “Amrit Vela”.

It advices you to do 2.5 hours of yoga during this time as it’s said to clear the karmas for that day. This is because what you give you will receive back ten fold. If you give one tenth of your day to your higher conciousness the returning energy will cover your entire day.

However, it’s not an easy thing to get up every morning at 4 but if you do you will build your willpower, confidence and ability to concentrate.

This practice is also known as Sadhana or spiritual practice. try it for 40 days straight and see what it does for you.

Also there is said to be a difference between doing yoga in the amrit vela vs doing it between 4pm and 7pm. Doing yoga in the morning is said to be building for life. In the afternoon is said to be for the death and the existence after it.
